Moe the Moose - Poem by Kyotee Island Krew

I was floating down the Tahquamenon
One warm and summer day,
When I saw a monster slurping
Tea-colored water from the bay.
He slowly raised his head,
His antlers oh so wide.
I knew he saw me tremble
I searched out a place to hide.

When he let out this awful snorting
I got goosebumps to my toe,
Then I thought I heard him whisper,
"Hello kid, my name is Moe."
As I sat still and watched him,
I had no further fear.
He was quiet, polite and gentle,
But man, he was big for a deer!

That is when I remembered
I was in the county they call Luce,
And standing proudly before me
Was their magnificent Moe the Moose!
