August 31-September 4 Bring on the Bridge sponsored by The North Country Trail Association, Hiawatha Shore to Shore Chapter Day hikes along the Hiawatha Shore-to-Shore section of the North Country Trail with Rustic camping available at the old Mackinac County fairgrounds, Moran, Michigan 49760. Bring On The Bridge is the name of the event since the Annual Labor Day Bridge walk is what started this event. Hiawatha Shore to Shore Chapter arranges this event for NCT enthusiasts. Few people realize that the Mackinac Bridge is part of the North Country Trail and that it is only open for pedestrian hiking that one day of the year, on LABOR DAY.
